Default FBT tads...

hi!
I've got lots of FBT tads some (which are seperate from the less developed ones) are nearly growing their front legs but i think they have stopped eating... ive been feeding them tropical fish granuals, carnivorus fish pellets, bloodworm and a bit of chicken... they were eating fine until u could see their front legs developing under their skin, now they just seem to be hanging around... any1 know why? is it because they have started to absorb their tails?

thanx xXx

They are about 1 – 1.5 inches long and 12 - 14 weeks old? That is about the time bombina and orientalis begin their morph into land dwellers and absorb their tails. While absorbing their tails they will not eat. Alarming isn't it? LOL
Make sure that they have super easy access to dry land.

they seem to be eating a bit now... most of them have all their legs but one has deformed back feet, should i somehow get rid of it? and whats the nicest way of desposing of a deformed tad? i have a turtle dock in the tank so they should be able to get out of the water really easily and when they do i have another tank to move them to...

when they leave the water will they only eat live things like my adults? what should i feed them? are fruit flies best?

Thanks xXx

I don't know what your turtle dock is like but most of the ones I've seen are not correct for morphing FBTs to use. They need it really really easy to get out of the water as well as rest part in and part out of the water.

When I was raising them, once they morphed, I fed them dusted aphids, fruit flys, and Pin Head Crickets.
