Default Dangerous Feeders

Alright, Spring is pretty much here which means that all of the insects, arachnids, worms, etc. are coming out to enjoy the warm weather. It also means that I will be going out to capture them for my fire-bellied toads. Luckily I live in an area where no chemicals of any kind are sprayed and the woods are within walking distance so I don't have to worry about "infected" bugs.

The reason I made this thread was to learn of any prey that could potentially harm my toads if I were to feed them to them. I know that fireflies and ladybugs are off the menu as well as anything that could overpower and kill my toads (large spiders, wasps, bees, etc.) Does anybody have anything else that would be a definite no-no besides the ladybugs and fireflies?

I never felt confident with ants, idk but that's just me. Ants are pretty tough especially if you catch a bunch of them. Once again, its just me....

No earwigs or centipedes, and you should avoid most beetles (alot of them release toxins when threatened) unless you've raised them yourself, like mealworm beetles or superworm beetles. There are alot of caterpillars that are toxic, if it's fuzzy, don't feed it. Some moths and butterflies should be avoided. I don't know which butterflies, so I generally don't use them. As for moths, I generally don't feed anything that's large, and NEVER anything colorful. That's about all I have for now!

Oh, and NO houseflies, they carry tons of diseases...
